Denver homeowners are leaving $14,750 on the table.

Here's exactly how the rebates stack -- as of June 2026.

Colorado Energy OfficeHEAR Rebate (lower income tier)$8,000
Xcel EnergyCold-Climate Heat Pump Rebate$6,750
TotalYour savings$14,750

To qualify for the full $14,750:

  • Household income under $74,550 for a family of 4 (Denver-Aurora area, 2024)
  • Active Xcel Energy customer in their Colorado service territory
  • Licensed contractor registered with both HEAR and Xcel programs

Status update: Colorado HEAR stopped accepting new Front Range (Region 1, including Denver) applications on April 28, 2026. Until it reopens, the dependable Denver number is the $6,750 Xcel rebate plus the state credit -- the $8,000 HEAR line above is currently claimable only in Region 2 (the mountain and Western Slope counties).

Federal HEAR heat-pump rebates now require electric heat or new construction (DOE guidance 26-2); a swap from a gas furnace may not qualify. Federal 25C/25D tax credits expired December 31, 2025. Verify current status for your address before you install.
