How does WattGap plan to make money?
WattGap is not currently charging households for the diagnostic or core guidance. WattGap does not currently offer a paid household application service. Revenue models under evaluation include:
- 1.Contractor tools. Contractors pay for a widget that helps homeowners see rebate eligibility on the contractor's own website.
- 2.Community solar enrollment. When a homeowner enrolls in community solar through WattGap, the solar developer pays a referral fee.
- 3.Utility partnerships. Utilities and program partners pay only when a member actually enrolls in one of their own programs, verified in their own system.
- 4.Anonymous demand data. Aggregate, anonymized trends (not personal data) sold to utilities and manufacturers.
